Skills That Radically Impact Values and Eternity

Part of the mission and vision of Camp Croix is to train youth leaders for our church as well as our community. One of the ways we achieve this is through STRIVE Teen Camp. We provides teens with a fun filled, faith centered opportunity to explore teamwork, communication, problem solving, goal setting and general life skills such as budgeting and etiquette.

STRIVE is a unique opportunity for teens going into grades 10-12 to grow and develop as leaders, in an atmosphere where we share a Biblical worldview. Each day we start out with breakfast and Bible study before we dive into workshops and breakout sessions that help us grow as individuals, and as a leadership team. We break for lunch and spend the afternoon with team building, friendly competition, and fun activities each day. Throughout the day we spend time reflecting in small groups about how we can apply what we learn both in our communities and our home congregations.  We fill our evenings up with a scrumptious supper, recreation and a nightly devotion.

STRIVE follows a youth development model, where youth are teaching youth. Our Youth Leader staff is made up of college student leaders who are mature and solid in their faith and have a passion for building relationships with our participants. This dynamic often results in relationships and mentorships that continue far past the end of the week. We consider this a blessing to grow together in fellowship, in our walk with Christ.

The theme for 2022 will be Do Something. We will focus on how as Christians, we can’t just sit back and let life pass by. God tells us he has set aside work for us to do. We will focus on God’s call to us as young Christians to:

  • Give (to those in need)
  • Change (how people see the church)
  • Share (Jesus with those who don’t know)
